Spammer(s)

As several members will have noticed, we have been attacked recently by a very persistent spammer (assuming it's the same one each time) posting as a registered member.

In answer to one member's question: yes, we can block the IP address, and several have been blocked. I have now blocked a whole range of addresses owned by a particualar provider, on the basis that we have never had a 'genuine' member using that ISP.

It is possible that the IP addresses used for registration are not the true address of the spammer, but we have no way to check that, so it's a bit of a cat and mouse game.

If one of the mod team is on PT when they strike, they can be zapped there and then, but otherwise it's thanks to you guys who report them when you see them.

John
