If I have an extra YB after I go through my blacks I would be more than happy to give it to you -- no charge at all. But I can't make any promises that I will have any extras, until I have gone through them. Hope to see you there, it is a nice-sized show and shows are always lots of fun!

LOL They are all black, not blue! My camera does not show their true color very well.

Up, just found out I can't go to the show. It just so happens to be 4 hours away from were my cousins live, and in the opposite direction. Just my luck.

Yes, Frillbacks can fly. In fact, they are very fast, and coupled with the fact that many are high-strung, flighty birds, this can sometimes cause an issue! I've had three escape to date. I managed to catch two, and only caught them because they are never flown so are very out of shape. I now have a very large net. And no, they do not have any homing instinct. If they can see the loft, they will return to it, but once it is out of sight then they are pretty much hawk bait.

Beautiful birds - gorgeous plumage. You are very fortunate to get one of Steve StClaire's birds. Best of luck with your breeding program!

Do you know Steve too!? He is such a great guy! Goes above and beyond in everything he does, and is so nice and always very helpful.

Does he still trap or you keep fancy pants in with the others out of the loft?

he is back in the fancy bird loft where he got out of...funny thing is..I did not know he trapped till the next morning...I saw he was gone from the tree but when I closed the homer loft up that night did not think to look...I took a look at all my homers for the am feeding and he was on a perch like he has been hang'in with the homers all his life...I think he would fly well and do well with the homers..I just can't get myself to let him, or the others out ever...I would hate myself if anyone got caught by a hawk. the homers are so fast and savvy I really do not worry so much about them...he had a nice time though, but he is in a flight aviary and happy to be with his own kind..lol..
