do i need to band my new hatchlings?


i obtained a pair of purebreed racing homer from my consin and they are expecting their first pair of chicks on me. i am not an AU member so i cant seem to purchase the apropriate bands for them. i want to keep the new birds registered to their parents at AU but how would i go about in banding and tracking them? is banding nesesary? i don't plan on racing these birds anytime soon but want to keed it registed due to it's decent bloodline.

you can get some AU band from foys siegel and jedds ... its always better to band them homers...

If you band them and they get lost, someone can trace them back to you.
At 40 cents a band I think it is worth it.
