That's too bad. Don't think that's something that I would want to go to. Lots of ignorant people out there.

Did you come to the extravaganza? Not much of a turnout this time. I saw a grant total of one racing homer that actually looked pure bred. Quite a few mixes.

I'll tell you a story along these lines.

In my Combine, there is a guy who can win most of the races if he wants to.

Really!

But he has lost interest because of how much he has won. So he doesn't even race most of the time. But when he does, he is on top.

Anyway, the first time I was at a Combine old bird shipping, he was trying to get a bird out of the crate to send it to a race, and the bird was one of those "runners" and was dodging his hand in the crate. He got mad and snatched the bird up by the neck and was holding it up in one hand, chest high, and said "I ought to wring your neck". I thought he was going to kill it right then and there.

But then he brought it down into both hands and started handling it normally. Opening its wings one at a time and said "its lucky that its one of my better birds", and we all chuckled and it got logged in and put it in the shipping crate.

Now, I have no way of knowing just how much of that was show for the crowd, or how much strength was exerted by his hand around the birds neck. But it pizzed me off at the time. But it could have been relatively innocent.

I say this, because it pigeons remind me of dogs. Loyal dogs are sometimes mistreated daily. Yet, they love their masters. I don't think that pigeons in general love their "masters", but often you do see someone who gets good racing results, who isn't a pigeon "lover". Yet, the little boogers come home sure and swift.

Must be all about the food. And that little orange eyed hen.
