Flying young birds

with all the birds of prey around when do you start training your young birds.i live in ny I I will have about 10 young birds ready at the end of the monthfor training.i do not want to wait to long and have them get to strong on the wing and lose them.also someone mentioned in another post about losing a bird because it was to windy.do birds get blown of course and get lost.i would think a well bred racing pigeon would find its way back.

Your not too far from me normally I would hold them in until April. But there are other ppl who let them out now so I'm gonna be trying that this year. I've got 31 in the flying loft now and another 5 going in tommorrow or the next day. I'm getting them out early this year because I'm sick of keeping them for a few months only to lose them because they are too strong on the wing. Especially when you see how they look after the mature a lil then lose them it makes it even worse. So this year I'm gonna let them out in a week or 2. So if they do get lost it's while they still look like lil scruffy babies not like champs that could fly a race tommorrow if they were trained.
