I have named him Zeke. I'm having camera difficulties so I can't get a pic on yet.

I have a question. Now that its the third day it says I should feed him 5ml. Is that right? It seems like its too much.

If it seems too much, then feed a lesser amount .. judge how full the little one is by the size and firmness of the crop rather than actually how much you feed. You really have to use your own best judgment since you are the one with the bird and the one doing the feeding. As long as you can recognize when the crop is full and when it is empty, you should do just fine.

Continued good luck with your little one!

You need to feed him so his crop is full...that could be 3ml or 4ml. The amount of food should be gradually increased as the baby grows so it's hard to say for sure, how much you should be feeding him. Don't over feed as that can cause problems.
Be sure to let his crop empty each time before you add more food.

Okay, good, that makes me feel better.

Recently when I've been feeding him, it seems like the crop has more air than food in it when I'm done. Is this normal?

How are you feeding him? We'd like to avoid air in the crop.

This photo might help you a little.
The baby on the right has a full crop where as the baby on the left has a 'not so full' crop. It isn't completely empty but you can see the difference.
These babies were 7 days old in this photo & were fed by their parents.

I was feeding him by sucking up the formula then slowly pushing on the back so he could drink it, but now I'm going to go with maryjane's method she suggested, since I guess my method was wrong.

Is it food or could it be air? If it is food, you need to wait until his crop is empty. Is he pooping as much as goes in?

He is pooping alot. I think I just mistaked his crop for having something in it. But I'm still curious why is there a small amount of air in his crop? Is that normal?

If there are air bubbles inside the syringe or another mrthod of feeding him, it will get inside the crop. Also, if they are really excited and eat fast. It happens but it's not usual, and you want to keep it free of air.

I'm sorry about these questions but I have another one. I just got bought some organic plain yogurt. How much should be put in there formula?

Also, it says its made with whole milk, and I know many animals are allergic to milk, so would I run into problems if I use it?

Thanks

The yogurt will be fine. Just add a 1/2 teaspoon or so to the formula. I think you just add it to the formula once a day. Not every time you feed it. If that's wrong, someone will correct me I'm sure. Or 1/4 teaspoon. Just a dab will do ya. LOL..........
