How many races? If you have yb's that are nominated for an auction races how many races do you put them in. Also what distances do you like. Assuming the race is at the end of the year what do you do with these birds races wise?

I have 4 Auction birds...We have 2 Auction races, that I can fly them in...The races for me are 228 Miles...Most of the other guys in our combine will be flying 255 miles and up to 300 miles....I can send a healthy and well conditioned bird every week(up to 250 miles),as long as the races are 1400 ypm & up.....If any race is a hard one, then you have to rest the birds that were in it the next week....The key to shipping YB`s every week is the race speed the week before..If all your races are 1400 ypm and up,you should have no problem, untill you hit the 300 mile races...Then you will have to pick & choose your entries carefully......Alamo

With the amount of birds lost here in our club alot of guys only send their birds to 2 or maybe 3 races at the most. Do you think the chances are better if they are sent to more races or it might not matter much? Or auction is 320 miles and 340 for me but there is also 2 other races past 300 for me before the auction. I would not sent these birds to these for sure.

I think TWO 300 mile races,at least TWO weeks apart, healthy well conditioned and rested YB`s of good quality, can and will win for you....Remember the HEALTHY...Well CONDITIONED,and well RESTED wording !!!.....That`s the key to racing 300+ miles with YB`s......Alamo
