Info on one loft racesI don't mean to sound stupid, but being new to pigeon racing I have no clue how this works, what is a one loft race and how does it work, and what different type of races are there, any info would be great.

Basically with One Loft races, everyone who enters birds, pays an entry fee, and ships their birds out to that one loft. Ususally these lofts are huge and can hold a lot of birds. Once they have received all the entries they can handle, then that money goes towards the rewards in the end. The birds are medicated and trained from that one loft, and in the end, they are raced. Typically most big One Loft races will have multiple races the birds will compete at.
One Loft races are a good way to test the genetics and traits of your birds, because all the birds, no matter if they came from New York, Cali, Florida, or Texas, are trained, fed, and medicated the exact same way, and raced to the same loft. It's a test of who's birds can outsmart and outfly the rest, endure the distance and get back to the loft the quickest. Your birds may do wonderfully at the One Loft or Futurity races, but do poorly for you. Then you know it's something YOU are doing wrong, as the birds are obviously of good quality otherwise. On the other hand, they may do great for you, but not so great at the big money races. Perhaps it was the location of the race, the way the trainer does things, or maybe your birds just simply aren't as good (or lucky) as the other countless birds entered. But a word of advice, try to make sure you're winning in your own combine, or a few others' combines (by sending youngsters to friends to test) before you go spending hundreds of dollars to send them to one loft races. Although you may get lucky, you also may not, and that's a lot of money down the drain if you lose!  Gotta be pretty confident about your birds first.

Our combine puts on a one loft race. We have 9 clubs where every body sends either 1 bird or a 3 bird teem to 1 of the members that has a special loft that can hold 300 to 400 birds.
Their is a 100 a 200 and a 300 mile race, this way all the birds have the same chance as they all fly the same distance. Dave
