Introduction

Hi All:
I'm a new member to this community and wanted to say "Hello" and introduce myself to the group.
My name is Steve, living in Lake City, FL. I had racing pigeons many years ago. I'm planning on re-entering the sport again after many years. I finally have the space to do so. Yeah!!! I can see how the hobby has advanced since my absence.
I do have a few questions:

1. Is it better to start off with young birds or invest in 6 old birds making 3 pairs and start off with a line breeding program?

2. Does anyone know of any racing clubs in the Lake City, FL area or fellow racers in the area that I can get some "newbie" support from?

I'm currently reading "Rotondo On Racing Pigeons" and have "Lofts for Racing Pigeons" on order, thinking they will get me back into the hobby.

I noticed there are a lot of racing pigeons available on the inter net, between the auction sites and private sites you could spend tons of money.

Thanks for reading!
Cheers,
Steve
