Lighting For Breeding?

Want to pair my birds up in Feb.When and how long do I keep them on lights to bring on their breeding cycle before I put them together? Some will be first time breeders and new pairs.

Hey Grizz,

I am sure you are suppose to give them enough light to make them think it is spring time. Most people I am sure use a timer and start giving them additional light. I personally broke my timer, so I have simply left them under light 24/7. I have done this last couple of years and it seems to do the job just fine.

Two weeks before you pair then up, you can start giving them at least 15 hours of light and that should work.
