HOLLYWOOD/SURE BET

I cant keep them all. To make room for these, I will be selling a couple birds off of my old bird team. The only reason I will let them go, is because I still have the parents. If you are intrested please send me a pm.

Remember, just because they are from Hollywood does not mean they will act like winners. Test them out before you get rid of good races. Even good papered birds can breed duds.

These birds have raced well in our combine. They have flown races all the way out to the 300. They are proven, with the nice papers!!

Why is everyone so down on pedigreed pigeons? Seems like when someone looks at how expensive one is or a big name the bashing begins, did you ever stop to think there is a reason why they cost so much, maybe because they are good bloodlines, would you go out to the local park to select your stock birds? doubtful, you would want the best to start with, I have some well bred pigeons with peds. and they flew well for me as a first year guy, I have seen people bashing Ganus, come on that guy has bred some awesome birds alot of winners. Anyway, ST nice pigeons, Hope they breed some winners for you!!

Its alright I didnt break the bank on them. Im taking a chance, if they dont work out its ok, Ill move on. They were consistant, but not in the top 10%. The loft that they flew out of is off line.

dont think anyone is bashing these birds they just want to know what they have done is all and as far as I have seen everyone has agreed that they are great looking birds too.Now as for Ganus dont think anyone has a problem with how god his birds are and what they can do just the prices they are tagged with and nothing more .

I am really new to this sport but I do know one thing, If someone has anything worth having be it pigeons, dogs, horses, or whatever, most of the time it's not free or cheap. I say if someone has spent years breeding a family of winning pigeons, horses, dogs, or whatever, they have alot of time and money invested hence the price.

Maybe because once it has a pedigree papers with famous names it becomes expensive, but their performance may not show it. So it has something to do with priorities. It is also hard to be objective with pedigreed birds. If you a have nice pedigreed bird, but doesn't perform well, you have difficulty eliminating it either because of the pedigree or because it was expensive when you bought it. What I am saying is that if you use pedigree alone as your sole selection method, then you are already lost. Which would you prefer? Good performance bird without a pedigree or mediocre performance bird with good pedigree. In my case I want both. LOL! Pedigree analysis should be one of your arsenal tools for pigeon selection.

Why don't you want to get birds in top 10%? If the birds you bought are consistent not in top 10%, they might be also not in top 10% at your place.

With respect to your new birds, I like the first bird (Hollywood/Phantom), not the second one. Did the first bird outperformed the second bird? I am thinking it did. So what is the result? I am just speculating.

I do want birds in the top ten, who wouldnt? These birds were available and I was in need of two breeding age males. Plus I have had success crossing the hollywood family onto some other blood in my loft.....so why not.

As far as which flew better, Im not sure I would have to go back and look. It would be hard to compare because in 08 and 09, our combine flew two different courses.
