No landing zone

What are some ideas I can use to build something on my loft roof to make the birds not land there an just stay on the landing board? Ive seeb people put little picket fences with string to prevent birds from landing on the roof

That is a well used and tested method. There may be other ways of doing that, such as building a very steep pitched roof, and if a steel roof is used, that can work very well also.

This is what I will be doing to my loft. I have the metal roof and a steep pitch on my house. I watched my birds try to land on it many times this last year and they would slide right off. The only place they were able to land was at the peak. The small picket fence at the peak will take care of that.

By the way TipplerBeni, That loft will be built about 100 miles south east of you. I will be moving just north of Lake Okeechobee FL.

Another advantage to the steep pitch of steel, is that animals such as cats can't walk on it either...

Quick question it has to do with the birds on stuff. They sit on my fountain thing, I have pics in my album I think, and they just poo in there. I tried putting a metal pie tin over, it does an okay job, but it always gets nocked off.
Any Ideas on what I should do?

someone here, I think it might have been Ace cut the top off of a soda bottle (2 LT) and taped it to the top of that kind of waterer. The birds can't perch on it then.

Perching on Waterer

What I do is hang a stout piece of stick above the waterer so that it almost touches it. When a bird flysKuo on top of the waterer the sticks swings away and then swings back and knocks the bird off. After a few days they don't try it anymore, the only thing is that you will have to always have it hanging there. Just another option. Good luck!!

This is what I did with my waterer... I also extended the legs of the stand. It now sits almost 2 feet off the ground.
