Hi There,

Welcome to the group! First off, how long have you had this pair of pigeons? If they are just settling in then they may take awhile to form a pair bond and start breeding. What kind are they?

Pigeons will breed year round depending on environmental conditions but they aren't as successful during the winter months in colder climates.

How old are they? If they are still youngsters they need at least another year to mature.

How big is the box?

Also, do you have a male and female?

Extending the daylight hours by artificial lighting in the winter(12-14hours)accompanied by a constant feed & water supply(heater for the fountain)will help bring your birds into condition for winter breeding.

Lightbulb

You know im having the same thing with my bird`s. But that could be because of they are in a different loft then what they are used to. I put them together Dec15. They all started cooing and dancing(the males) and the females accepted the old mates back. They have the boxes set up and everything. They only problem is they dont want to breed! I can breed all year around because of my area. I split them up though so I didnt have to worry about all that and to give the bird`s a break. So I hope to start seeing egg`s by Jan 1st so I can get the 06 bands just in time. If they dont start breeding by Jan20th im going to think something is wrong with them.

It sometimes helps if you separate them for a few hours and then reintroduce them - absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that!!
