Number one is back and a question

Well good news, He came in this morning and ate like crazy. Pidgey seems you were right took a long trip around and must have come back for the food.

Great news as i was pretty upset

This afternoon I put him/her on the landing board for his daily flip but he trapped immeadiatly even though no food. Is he tired? and should I keep him in for a day or two. This I cannot seem to find information on. Now that he has flown is it daily or what?

Great! Thanks for letting us know.

That first trip always leaves you worrying when they don't show up right away. I have had babies on their first flight come back anywhere between 1 hour to 1 week!

Yes, keep this poor bird in for at least 3 days, and let him eat as much as he wants to for at least one more day. You have no idea where he's been, what he's been through and he needs to rest. After a few days he'll be back to his old self. Just don't push him. He'll tell you when he's ready to get out and fly again. Glad he made it home. They are amazing little creatures for sure.

OK, thanks, I will keep him in tomorow - he will get plenty food and rest. After that should I let him fly every 2nd day or so?

His folks are on eggs I hope to train this one well so when he gets some chums he can train them. I presume it goes a lot quicker if they have some mates to fly with who can show them the ropes
