One loft race.....please explain,how its done !!!

I am from a region, where pigeon racing is still in its early days of developement, the general public here, is not even aware of such pigeon races .So,i dont have any experience or knowledge about pigeon racing, except little bit of what i have read in this forum. Can somebody give a detailed description, how the "ONE LOFT RACE" is done, what kind of preparations goes into this type of race ,it would be really great to hear expert comments from all the experienced pigeon racing legends over here.....!!!

It works pretty much like the name would imply. One Loft race...the birds are in a race by themselves. Preparations are as varied as there are lofts. Go to your search engine and enter One Loft Race and you should be able to find some lists of One Loft events which are held around the world. Go to their web sites and read how they prepare, or don't prepare the birds. Which region of the world are you from, where pigeon keeping is new ?

That leaves the market open for you and your club if you wanted to start a one loft race in India. I live in Baja Mexico and there is no clud with in 800 k so it I want to race I will have to develope the club and the races. That may happen not at anytime soon.

Yeah,i am planning to built up a good homer family.......i hope one day ,pigeon racing becomes very famous here too..I am planning it on a long term basis. Here,we have lot of pigeon lovers, but they are unaware of homers, due to lack of exposure to them.I myself came to know about the homers, through the various members over here...!!!

Just make a travel to Chennai and Bangalore, contact address would be available on their webpages, there they organize homer races. We also have couple of members on PT who race with those clubs. The biggest in India is from Kolkota to Chennai I guess.
Before you make serious investments on your plans for a homer family, be sure to check up with the local Animal Welfare Dept.
