Here are pictures of some of our 2005 youngsters on their first day in their section and one of the outside of our loft.

Ellen,

Wow, beautiful birds and beautiful loft. Man, that loft looks prettier and bigger than some people's houses. Good luck in 2005!!!

Yes we had birds ready to band on the first of the year, most were Christmas day hatches. We haven't actually decided as of yet the exact number we plan to raise as of yet, we need enough for our race team, plus a few extra for stock, plus a few to send out, hmmm..... I guess a few for the Eleanor Roosevelt School Project so the kids can fly them and so I really can't answer that question at this time. I know we plan to start seperating them the 1st of March.

Linda,

Thank you, our loft has a lot of work into it so far, I am really trying to figure out when we will quit adding on to it, I don't know if it will ever be finished. My husband has decided to add another 20 feet onto it for some additional space. Currently it has 2 Old Bird Sections 7.5 by 12 foot, 2 young bird sections 6.5 by 12 foot, 3 foot hall down the front, 4 foot hall down the back, 12 by 12 foot setup with individual breeding and two 6 by 12 foot hen and cock sections setup also for breeding in, plus a full bathroom (works good when you are out there for hours with the birds) and soon to add on the extra 12 by 20 feet to allow for additional flight sections and individual breeding and for seperating.

My kids keep saying that we need to move the birds out and turn it into a house for them, they keep trying to stake out the plans but we will not let them although it might be nice to have the 3 grand babies around but it is also nice to send them home and the back yard might be a little close and besides they wouldn't let my pigeons live with them so they can't move in there.
