Sick homer

Hey guys I would have put this in the emergancy section but I wasn't sure how often people visit that part of the site. I have a homer that has been sick for about a week now. He started to walk around the loft and only fly when I got close. Then he refused to fly at all. So I examined his body and nose and mouth and found a few small yellowish dots in the back of his throat. I thought this might be canker and since I needed to treat my birds any way I medicated him for that. The dots didn't go away and I'm not sure what to medicate him for. Any help would be great. Thanks a ton!!!!

Hi Pogohawk,

What medication did you use, what is the dosage amount, and how long did you treat for?
Also, if not pill, what was the delivery method? Is this the first time you've treated for Canker, if not do you rotate your meds for Canker and what other Canker meds have you used?

If you could post this info in the meantime, it will most likely help members to assess your situation. I'm sure someone will be along shortly to assist you.

I'll have to check the brand but it was a water supliment that was given to me by my mentor. I've used this medication in the past and have had no problems. This is my first serious canker problem so I'm not too sure what to do. I treated him for 3 days as the supliment said with no results. I also seperated him from my other birds and treated them as well. There have been no other problems in the loft as of yet.

If you have a mentor close by, maybe he can give you some meds so that
you can get started right away. If not, you'll need to order & express the
meds so you can get started.
