Vitamin D/Food

Hi everyone, what kind of vitamin D should i mix with my oyster shells for my birds? What do you guys feed your birds, like what did you mix in your food to keep your birds healthy?

Thanks a lot-

Everyone has their own combination, at a minimum including a vitamin-mineral supplement several times a week and a good quality grit available at all times.

Here's my current schedule:
- Vitamin-mineral supplement in the water three times a week
- Add a tiny bit of olive oil to the seeds (just enough to barely cause the seeds to shine) twice a week
- Grit (containing oyster shell) in a bowl available free choice
- Several mineral pickpots or pickstones also available free choice
- Chopped greens (kale, romain lettuce, broccoli, clover, or parsley) twice a week

For extra vitamin D, you can give a drop of organic cod liver oil-once a month, it's most readily absorbed and it comes with all the extras, as its organic.
