Whats my chances?

I have a great cock on loan that I have to return. I have another great cock that has mated with a hen who hasn't produced any eggs. My plan is to change hens with the cock I own. If I get rid of the unproductive hen what are my chances of getting the pair I have left to mate up? Any ideas how to help this happen?

The hen that is the true mate needs to be out of eyesight of the cock. put your hen you want him to pair up with alone in the same section, it should not take too long for them to pair up if the other hen is not there. Im not sure exactly sure how long though.. but I have a indian fantail that lost a mate recently and it only took him two days to pair up with a little american fantail in the same loft and I was really hoping they would as did not want him to be a bachelor in that loft.

I did the same thing just last week. My one hen could not lay so I move her to another building and had a new Hen added to the breeders loft to replace her. In less than 5 days she was in his nest box last night and again today. Its not love yet so I put a nest bowl in his box today and we will see what happenes. I think he still misses his old hen and its been real cold so the breeding activity has been low.
