Diamond Doves...This past week a girl I go to school with gave me a pair of Diamond Doves. I was really happy because I have been wanting a pair. Once I got the chance to look them over I noticed that their tail feathers are damaged. She had them in a very small cage and it this damaged the feathers. She was also not feeding them correctly and they seem to malnourished. I have gotten them a bigger cage and bought some food that helps condition them. They are very flighty and get frightened easily. The girl I got them from never held them and would catch them with a towel if she needed to catch them. I am glad that I rescued them from her.

Wow!I have a pair of diamond doves, too! I feel kindof bad though, because the male's tailfeathers are broken
.....I had a nice large cage for them, and TWO nests, which they alternately laid in but never sat long enough..... They also had a nice diet, although they wasted most of it. Now I just let them fly around free in my aviary with my ringneck, pied, and mourning doves. I felt bad that the male's feathers were hurt, and it just seemed like they needed more room. Besides, none of the birds bother each other.
