El Viudo Truely my feathered friendwell here goes i said i'd tell el viudos story well el viudo was my thief pouter i got him when he was just a squeaker in 2006and had him ever since he flew with the best of them and there wasnt a pigeon in the air that he couldnt seduce. In 2007 i ended up getting a divorce and my ex got everything and i had nowhere to go so i took three pouters with me with trap boxes and began to live under an over pass evetually i got hungry after i ran out of money. so i released the the first two pouters and they never came back so the last one i had was el viudo i let him go and thought he had left me too but an hour went by and here came el viudo with two ferals in tow he traped one and that was my meal. This became an everyday thing as if he knew i needed him he would go and bring and trap he is the reason i survived on the street for 2 months until my army retired pay kicked in and i got a place. Ofcourse i kept him he the angel over my shoulder .Then i just recently moved and was gona place his box on top of the loft and i slipped and out he flew and right in to the line of sight of a hawk dispite all the hawks and falcons he evaded in the past he couldnt get away from this one he flew up. down, around , overe .under, and even through traffic trying to get away but not this time EL VIUDo Met his match and the hawk caught him.And all i could do was watch and when i saw that hawk come up with him my heart just droped straight out of my chest. To me this pouter wasnt like any other he stayed with me in my worst time he fed me he always retured to my whistle directly to my hand no matter how far he was. In his life el viudo won 2 suletas , his number of captured pigeons in his 2 years of life was 78 that in cludes ferals, homers, rollers, and one highflyer. I just wanted to tell his story
as he took mine with him. R.I.P Viudo Hope your flying higher than you ever flown before good bye my friend |

I'm so very sorry for the loss of this bird and for the difficult time you went through. Some members are NOT going to understand or approve of parts of your story, but it IS your story, so I have posted it as it was written. For me to try and edit out the parts that may not be well received would have changed the whole story.
Let's hope that our members can understand the situation you were in and can appreciate the difficulties you had to overcome. Terry |

I'm very sorry to hear about your bird AND the misery that you have had to endure.........however, we are glad to have you here with us. I can't say I "understand" because I've never been in your shoes, however, I had no problem with your story other than being sorry that you had to go through it all in the first place.

Stories, are how our past is passed.... into our future. Don't apoligize for surviving. I commend you for posting your story. Some of us maybe wouldn't haven't done what you choose but; thats what makes it your story. We all, do the best we can, with what we have... at the time we have it. I'm sorry that you had to go through this diffucult time in your life. For me: I am a firm believer that sometimes..... people, things, and situations come into our lives for a moment and others for a lifetime........ But never failing to teach us something along the way. So...... Congrats on moving on, and for realizing that where you were didn't define your future. My many wishes for a future full of happiness.
