Season 2. Episode #10

Tooter, Dinkster and Squeeks had nowhere to go as the net decended. Uni struck Dorian and Tiddles in mid air bowling them both over. But it was too late.

They let go of the net and it fell over our brave trio tangling them up. Uni continued on her parabolic path and dissapeared into the trees.
Dorian recovered quickly and rounded up the three grunting pijies, and with Tiddles help, he dragged them into the dog carrier, and slammed the door. Then pushed it off the track and into the brush.

Dudley and Hali saw everything. For a couple of seconds they were shocked into inaction by the ease of capture of Tooter and the guys. They ducked back into cover.
'Well that's great, that's just darn great man. Now what the heck are we supposed to do? We're in some real pretty poop now man... That's it man, game over man, game over! What the heck are we gonna do now? What are we gonna do?' Whined Dudley. Pete should never have let him watch 'Aliens'. His expanded vocabulary was not an improvement.

Hali just stared at him for a second or two then slapped him right on the beak.
'Ow!'
'Shhhh. I'm trying to think.'
'You maybe haven't been keeping up on current events but we just got our tail feathers KICKED PAL!
Dudley was in the groove, and he still had more Hudson quotes up his slieve.
'Look!' hissed Hali 'We are still here, we came to set free some doves before the hunters get them in the morning. Last time I checked, they were still locked up. Squeeks, Dinkster and Tooter will have to look after themselves a while.
'But that cat got them!'
'And they can take care of themselves. If we go rushing out there now, all it'll achieve is another two birds in that prison. But we can at least rescue the doves while we are here.'
'And you ask why Tooter keeps you around young lady'. Said a voice.
'Uni!'
'The hooked-billed pijie is right. We can't rescue our friends now. We need more Pijies for that. However, we can set the doves free. No doves. No Dove
hunt.'
'But what about the guys!' Asked Dudley.
'We will figure out a way to get them free later. But for now we have work to do.'

Uni took off with a resounding wing clap and dissapeared into the trees. Hali and Dudley ran along underneath her, as it was too dark for them to fly. Uni on the other hand dived, and swerved around the unseen branches as if it was noon.
Occasionally Dudley or Hali would trip over an inconvinent root. Uni would somehow see this, and begin circling overhead until they recovered and carried on.

After a while Uni came in to land in front of a large cage filled to the edges with doves.

Dudley learned two things about Doves that night. Firstly, they aren't the sharpest knife in the drawer. Secondly, when you take time to explain what a Dove Hunt is......... they don't hang around. The cage and the surrounding area was completely dove free in seconds.
'Now what?' asked Hali.
'Now we get help.'

The three Pijies dissapeared into the night.

Tooter was not a happy pijie. It was dark. It was smelly, and it was altogether too crowded in here for his liking. And to make matters worse, he was stuck in there with Squeeks and Dinkster.
'MY LEG! MY LEG! I CAN'T FEEL MY LEG!!!!!!' Screamed Squeeks.
'THAT'S BECAUSE THAT ONE'S MINE! OUCH! LET GO! AND GET THAT DARN CAPE OFF MY HEAD!' shouted Dinkster.
'WILL YOU TWO STOP SHOUTING!'
'OK!'
'OK!'

'Good. At least I can hear myself think in here.' Huffed Tooter. 'Right. We are stuck in a dog carrier. It should be easy enough for an SPP to bust out of. Squeeks? - Beak that darn lock.'
'Right Boss!'

Squeeks edged his way around Dinkster, Sort of "accidently" stepping on his tail feathers, and dropping a heavy bag of peanuts on his toes. As far as Squeeks is concerned, he loved Dinkster.

But nobody disses his cape and gets away with it.

Squeeks was a lot more gentle climbing over Tooter. Just goes to show, Squeeks is not stupid.
'Can you get through this?' Asked Tooter.
'This?' Snickered Squeeks. 'This is standard gauge light steel wire........' He grinned. ' What shape do you want it in afterwards. I've been practicing my balloon animals. You want me to make you a little weiner dog? You can bring it back to Hawkmaster or Coolpigeon.'

'Squeeks, just do it.'

Squeeks squared up to the bars. He launched himself straight at them. It was great. It was perfect. Dinkster felt like applauding the magnificent technique of a true master of Pijie martial arts.

Right up to the point where Squeeks bounced off them hacking and spitting, and swearing like a sailor. Both Tooter and Dinkster were bowled over as Squeeks tried to get as far away from the bars as he could.
'What's wrong?' asked Tooter.
'Yeah, what's wrong Squeeks, the "widdle iddy biddy baws too hard for you"?'
'Ok, Dinkster' said Squeeks scratching his beak like crazy, 'You try.'

Dinkster did. Shortly afterward he joined Squeeks in the back of the carrier trying to put room between him and the bars.

'What is it? are the bars electrified? sharp edges? - What?' asked Tooter.

'Castor oil' they answered. 'He smeared Castor Oil on the bars!!!!!'
'Now That's Evil. Said Tooter

Oh Alvin, I truly think this is the best episode yet! Our 3 dashing SPP's may be out for the count right now but I know they're going to prevail. I can't tell you how much I enjoy your stories. They are wonderful.

Boy am I glad that I logged on just before I put the dishes away.

Our guys are in a bit of a mess. Except for Gertrude, this is the first time that they have been held against their will.

First spare minute that I've had. Logged on to read it again. Nope! Not out of this situation yet. I will keep checking. Can't sleep at night, you know.

Have no fear, the SPPs will triumph...that's what they DO! Only Alvin will know just HOW that will be accomplished...
