Season 2. Episode #9

[alvin]

Squeeks and Dinkster arrived back in Omaha a couple of seconds later.
'Hi Uni'
'Hello Squeeks, how is the bell ringing?'
'Coming along great Uni. Got your seeing eye cat yet?'
'I'm working on it'.
Dinkster looked puzzled.

'Dinkster, this is Uni. Anything is possible.'
Dinkster looked incredulous. He had heard many things about Uni, but most of them he put down to urban legend, or too many hemp seeds.

'Well we have all met, now lets get down to business.'
Tooter led them into the loft where he and Paris had set up a tiny sand table and a map board. The sand had been piled up and flattened out in different areas to show the terrain features. Matchtsicks had been placed to show woods, and a small drinking bowl was buried in the middle to serve as a 3D replica of a small lake. Some spare pieces of 2x4 left over from Victors construction made handy little buildings. Tooter lookd on it with loving eyes as he explained what each feature was.
'What's that?' Asked Squeeks, pointing to a spot of pijie incontinence in the corner of the sand table.
'Beaksley decided to help' Growled Tooter.
'Will that be there?' Asked Squeeks. He couldn't resist.
'Yes there will be poop. But not to that scale, unless some of the doves get very frightned.....'


Tooter stood behiend the table, and used a small twig to breif the Pijies on the plan. He switched between the sand table, and the flipchart map on the wall, as he took them through it.

'Ok, Pijies, this is what's going to happen'.
He pointed to a small "X" scratched in the sand.
'This is where we arrive. You,' He said pointing to Squeeks, 'Dinkster and I will arrive first. We do the Pijie split, and head off in every direction we can. Uni will follow after. It's going to be dark, so Her Ladyship, will be our eyes. She'll fly aircover. If she spots something, we group on her, and release the doves.'

Tooter put away his twig, and looked at the little gathering;

'Once we get the doves lose, we get back here sharpish, then it's some good seed, some nice water, and no doubt a couple of medals.'
'Questions?' Asked Tooter.
Dinkster shuffled his feet back and forth.
'Speak up that Pijie!' ordered Tooter.
'Well, I don't want to sound like a nay-saying-nelly, or anything Tooter. But it's an awful lot of ground to cover for four Pijies. Can we get some backup on this one?'
'Like who?'
'Well I'd like Gertrude and Doodles, maybe Oskar too.'
'Gertrude is not available.'
'What could be more important then saving these doves.'
'Gertrude is not available....anymore.'
'Did you two guys have a fight Tooter?' Asked Squeeks. 'There are no white feathers in your beak, and both your wings are still attached, so I'm guessing no.'
Uni sighed 'Squeeks? Dinkster? - Gertrude is missing presumed passed on. He left the loft, and never arrived in NJ.
All of the Pijies were broken hearted, They had only known Gertrude for a short while, but he had captured their hearts.

'Look, it's like this,' Said Tooter. 'Me and Uni, are agreed. It looks and smells like a trap. We can not, nor will not, allow any other Pijies to be put at risk in this.'
'Then why are we here?' asked Squeeks.
'Because between the four of us, we can face anything that a Pijie Hater can throw at us. I trust the three of you like I trust myself.' Answered Tooter.

'Then what are we waiting for?' Said Uni winding up for a Pijie teleport. Tooter, Dinkster, And Squeeks, were faster, and dissapeared a half of a second before her.
Paris, Beaksley, Uchiwa, and the rest rushed to hide the evidence as Victor came out to visit.

Hali and Dudley peeked out from behiend the bushes. They teleported in a little way away, so that Hali could get over the vertigo that she got whenever she teleported. Pijie transportation played hell with her inner ear. They were about to walk through the trees, when Hali noticed a couple of odd shapes in the lower branches. She threw herself, and Dudley behiend a rock and watched as Dorian marked out the spot where Tooter and the gang would arrive. If they moved, they would be spotted.
So they didn't move.

All of a sudden Tooter, Squeeks, and Dinkster arrived in a flash. Before they could split in all directions, Dorian, and Tiddles sprang.
Tooter had about a half of a second to look up before the world went black. Dorian fixed eyes with Tooter, and something flashed between them

Recognition......

Half a second is a very significant spell of time in this episode. I'm thinking of calling it that.

Because if you remember that Uni left half a second later?

So, just as Dorian and Tiddles reached Tooter and the guys......

Uni arrived.
At Speed.

So;
Q. what do you get when you have a group of static Pijies, Two falling cats, a net, and an incoming cannon ball called Uni.
A. A bloody big mess of fur, feathers, string, grass, leaves, and anger

[mr squeaks]

Sounds like Bright Eyes needs to seed hole teleport right sharp ASAP!

HOW, pray tell, did DvN and Tiddles KNOW just where the guys were going "materialize?" The SPPs only knew a split second before, themselves...Only Tooter knew in advance...

Did I miss something?

I DO hope Uni doesn't let Pidgey know about a possible "seeing eye cat!" Pidgey would pitch a FIT! He is NOT a cat person! More's the pity as cats have RELAXATION techniques down to a fine art! Pidgey could certainly benefit!

I feel like I'm hanging by a thread. Although I am a little person, a thread just won't hold me!

I don't know Shi, if a seeing eye cat can help Unie, I think Pidgey will be all for it. It is a seeing chin weiner dog that he will not put up with.

OK, Pete! I knew you were talented! WHEN are you gonna photoshop (or whatever you do) with Alice's Pirate and his outfit? Mmmmmm???

FEATHER - you are correct about the weiner dog BUT - trust me on this - Pidgey would NEVER allow Unie to have ANYTHING to do with cats, spirit or otherwise!!

She will have to keep her cat spirit guide (probably Bubba as he has Pijie experience) a closely guarded SECRET!!!

IF Pidgey found out, he COULD revoke her SPP services! Believe me, I know of which is speak!!

Pidgey is highly energetic, especially mentally and his mind is ALWAYS in gear! (that's why he runs around in circles so much!) He has a most difficult time trying to relax and rejects my offers of relaxation techniques, especially those involving cat specialties, like massage. Cats are experts on massage techniques...

I'm trying Shi, I really am but I'm not up to speed with Photoshop yet. I can make a lightsaber or similar effects in minutes but I'm really trying to cut and add a really cool pirate hat, eye patch & peg leg but I'm getting nothing but grief.

Don't give up, Pete! I'm sure the WAIT will be well worth it.

We could also wait for Pidgey, but, 2007 will be here before we know it!!

ALVIN!! WOW! I read all the SPP stories in this one night, because even though my eyes are burning with fatigue, I was hooked from the first story and couldn't stop reading. I LOVE IT!!!! I cannot wait for more. Btw, I hope Gertrude comes back!

Actually, the SPPs started with Pidgey. He had a pij named Winter who had a mysterious egg. She wasn't capable of laying any eggs and Pidgey didn't know where it came from. Well, one thing led to another and before you knew it, Squeaks became the sidekick of Wonder Woman (Feather). I was along as Scorpio Power because Squeaks and I have telepathic powers, along with my own special powers. Unie also got into the act. We had other adventures with some other SPPs, one involving Alice (Licha), who has Popeye in Mexico. Pidgey was always the villain (he has multiple personalities complete w/accents).

One day, Alvin started his Episodes and the rest is history. Now, he has everyone hooked. Feather and I offer our services as consultants but the stories are all his...

The SPPs are dedicated to fighting crime against pigeons (although other animals could be involved. But, since this is a pigeon site, they are first priority).

Like all Super Heroes, the SPPs are highly trained and epitomize the highest in honor and integrity. Some have extra special powers that set them above the rest, but they are always willing to help train and nurture those who show promise.

BTW...Bubba, my 17 yr. old Scottish Fold is no longer with us, but acts as Squeaks' cat spirit guide, when needed. He's also there for Unie whenever she needs him.
