Super Powered Pijies #5Thanks to the Pijie cam, Tooter saw it the same time as Dinkster, and Gertrude, and Squeeks.
As one they all screamed CAT!!!!! But this wasn't your average everyday cat, neither was it the kind you'ld bring to a show. In fact if you did, it would probably eat the judges, mate with anything that couldn't escape, and then set fire to the arena before making off with the catnip. This cat was born on the mean streets, for the first six months of it's life it's momma was a housebrick, and it grew up with that mentality. It was short-legged, flat-eared sharp-clawed, Pijie death on paws. This was not a nice kitty. Gertrude caught him mid air, but only managed to grab his rather patchy tail. Dinkster Shot straight up. Squeeks made a dive for under the table. Doodles dived left. Gertrude, to his surprise, found himself in the center of an exploding mass of claws. Try as he might, It was all he could do to not end up on the business end of a set of paws. 'Let go!' Screamed Squeeks from under the table. 'ARE YOU KIDDING? I'VE GOT HIM RIGHT WHERE I WANT HIM!' Yelled Gertrude. 'Trust me, Let GO!' Said squeeks as he walked out from under the table. There was something strange about Squeeks. A certain feline assuredness that made Gertrude's feathers stand on end. Gertrude let go. The Cat was now free of that pecking demon, and he focused on the one target left. Squeeks. Unable to fly, unwilling to run, Squeeks stood unmoving in the empty space between the Kitchen table and the open door. The cat gatherd himself and sprang. It was perfect, it was classic, all four paws extended......... Then something happened. If you ask the Super Powered Pijies what it was, they will swear they don't know. But if you fill them full of hemp seeds, and ask again, they might hint that the room suddenly smelled of TWO cats..... A previously unheard of sound in all of Pijiedom issued from Squeeks's beek. MMmreeiooooowwwwwwww! The cat was caught in a moment of existential Kitty uncertainty. His eyes, saw a fat, happy confident, well adjusted Pijie. His Ears had just heard that pijie scream in no uncertain words, in kitty language; Don't You Hurt My Squeeks!!! In a voice that would brook no dessent. With two conflicting images, the kitty didn't know what to do. That is not a good thing to have happen to you if you are mid spring. There are two possible responces wired into a Kitty's brain. 1. When faced with a pijie who isn't moving, Spring, and devour. 2. When faced with a rival cat, sit and try to outstare him in a Jedi-like battle. The cat decided in about 1/4 of a second to do Both.....while being about a foot above the ground, and inbound. As a result the hindlegs decided to get the pijie, the forlegs decided to outstare the cat. Each end went it's seperate way, and the cat ended up in a furry pile at Squeeks feet. It sat up and with crossed eyes, it marveled at the dozen or so little yellow birdies tweeting as they flew in one ear, and out the other.......... Unfortunatly for the cat, three of those birdies were Gertrude, Doodles, and Dinkster. A couple of Sonic slaps, and a really thorough beaking later (Doodles fights dirty) the kitty was hoggtied, and deposited in the corner beside a water bowl marked 'Tiddles'. Doodles was left to guard the stunned kitty. He crouched down infront of the still crosseyed cat, with a 'Bigger they are, the harder they fall' look. Gertrude made for the Drawers, and started rearranging them. Dinkster opened the cupbords, located the salt, and the sugar, and mixed them accordingly. Hali led Squeeks out into the yard for some air. 'Hali? What happend in there?' 'I don't know, for a second you went all feline on us.' 'I know this sounds weird Hali, but I smell Bubba...' 'Maybe someone upstairs is looking out for you? - Either way, I'd keep it to myself for the moment if I were you.' 'Thanks Hali, Lets go back and finish the job. Anyone who owns a cat like that, deserves a good pooping.' 'No problem Squeeks...Oh, Squeeks?' 'What' 'If you start hacking up furballs, you're on your own' Grinned Hali. As the two headed back to the house to join the mayhem, Sirens wailed again...........Only this time they were coming down the street. Quickly. Tater switched on the radio mike 'Dinkster, Tooter? - We might have a problem'.

Thanks, Alvin! Bubba is, indeed, Squeaks' Guardian Angel Kitty! Add another Super Power to Squeaks' repetoire...the ability to "transmorph!"
Some pijies have this ability if they have/had a close relationship with another species: dog, duck, goose, cat, etc.  Sure can have a terrifying effect on the attacker!!"Tiddles????" Golly, no wonder that poor cat was death on claws - with a name like THAT!! To add to his other -ah-problems! Don't forget, the pijies have the "clouding mind" power of The Shadow. Could help with those sirens approaching unless they want to fast seed hole disappear - temporarily...  OR, whatever adventures you have in store... Story is coming along just great!

You are touching on every emotion here. This episode had me in tears! It was the other half of Shi's alarm system, watching over Super Squeaks. I guess that once Fur and Feathers are united they are unseperable, not even by death. Beautiful story....and like the others I am screaming for more. Feather
