A Homing Pigeon seems to have adopted us!

We live at 3400 ft elevation. Expecting snow in a few weeks. This bird has been with us for a week. Fairly friendly, but can't get too close. He has 2 bands. Can't read them. Do we let him alone or build a house for him?
