Bayonne NJ, Found an Injured Bird

Hi Everyone!

I found an injured pigeon in the parking lot of a local convenience store. Poor thing was huddled under cars trying to hide and I didn't have the heart to leave it. It looks like a wing injury and nothing else, just an extremely small cut on the back of his head. He was pretty active. I rent, have 3 cats, and have extremely limited space so I can't keep it for very long. Anyone know of a rescue near me? I'm basically as close to NYC as you can get in NJ. I know there is an organization around here that will take in wounded, but I am having a bugger of a time tracking them down. HELP!

Emily

Hi Emily and welcome to Pigeon-Talk! Thank you so much for assisting this injured pigeon. You might want to call Gretchen and ask her if she knows of someone or a rehab group near you. Gretchen is in NJ but I think a bit south of you. You can find her here: http://www.pigeon-life.net/prd.htm .. scroll down to the NJ listings. There are also some NY listings that might be of assistance. Please let us know how it all works out.
