Found a Pigeon

Hi,
We found a pigeon wandering around outside our local Walmart a little over a week ago. It was a cold rainy weekend and he was trying to get as close to the doors as possible in order to be near the heat I think. Not wanting him to fly into the store, we decided to try to catch him. He was very docile and we had no trouble catching him and putting him in a box to bring him home. He's currently comfortably residing in a large empty parrot cage we own.

His leg band number is IF 2009 50th ANN.LCM 1003. We've already tried to contact the IF lost and found coordinator number listed on their website. After the initial contact, where the coordinator promised to get back to us with the band info, we've heard nothing for over a week now. We also get no response to our multiple phone calls and emails. Does anyone know of anything else we can do to find this bird's owner? We're enjoying our special guest, but I think he would really like to get home. In case its any help, we're located in the northern Virginia area.
Thanks for your help,
Concerned Pigeon Rescuers

Call this man:
Don't bother with an email. You'll never get a response. WHERE in N. VA are you? Maybe we can find someone close to you that's not affiliated with the clubs.

Here's the contact info for the club its self if you don't already have it. If you DO get in touch with someone and they say "just turn the bird loose and let it come home"........please come back here before you do any such thing.
