Found Bird

We had a white pigeon trap into our loft today with our race birds. The band info is as follows.

NPA 8 05 BC 477

I have it in an individual pen with food and water. It's in good shape, just lost I guess??
I sent an e-mail to the address on the NPA web site and tried to call a person named Pat Avery in OK but didn't get an answer. I just thought I'd post the info here in the off chance someone may know who the bird belongs to.

Then there was the confused chimp at the zoo. He was reading the Bible and Darwin's Origin of the Species. Couldn't figure out if he was his brother's keeper or his keeper's brother.

Hi Renee,

Thank you for welcoming this lost pigeon into your loft or pen.

I have e-mailed the info. to the lost and found of the NPA club's secretary at JAMES4bird@aol.com , and if they send me an answer first, I will forward it to you.

Here is their website.

Thanks. I did that also. Do you know how to post on the Pigeon 911? I'm not familiar with it, just know about it. We have a local pigeon guy that has a lot of NPA banded birds but it's not his. I talked to him and he said if we didn't find the owner he would take it, but I told him he would have to give it a few days to see if an owner claims it. Thanks again.

PS: It's getting dark here so I went out to check on the bird one more time and it's up on a shelf ready to roost for the night. It had also been in the food and I dunked it's beak in the water so I assume it found that also. The bird is not down or skinny. I believe that it's probably lost from today for what ever reason. Maybe a wedding near by or something? Not sure, but it will be taken good care of, you can bet on that.

OOPS sorry about that.

I'm going to look for the pigeon 911 now, have never used it myself.

Thank you, and I know the bird is in very capable hands.

Thanks again.
I sent them an e-mail. Didn't post on the forum because I'm not a member.

Yep, I did get one too, and forwarded it to Foy's, hope they find the owner, or at least the club. I have never tracked an NPA band, so this will be the first, for me.

I just got a call from a guy in Texas who says he sold this bird to a guy in Lynchburg, VA. I got his number, gave him a call and left a message, so hopefully he'll call me back.

I just talked the owner and the bird situation is settled. He didn't want it back but it will find a good home. Thanks for all your help.
