Pigeon Rescued from Hawks

My boss this morning found a baby hawk attacking a pigeon and was able to save the pigeon but it appears the wing is damaged.
He has it in a box, but doesn't know what to do with it.
Is there anyone that can come and pick it up.
He lives in Huntington Beach, but our office is here in Los Alamitos, CA
800-825-4400, please ask for Robin or Stephan Plotzker.
Thank you
Robin

Hi Robin,

Thanks for helping. I have e-mailed some members in SoCal, hopefully they can give you some alternatives/help soon.

...keep an eye on the pigeon. Give him/her some food/water (seed or crushed bread) and see if she eats. Does she seem alert/awake ? or is she very still and sleepy-looking ?

Basically, he needs medical attention/meds within about 24-36 hours of being attacked.

Robin,
You might want to give Terry Whatley a call as she's in your area.
Perhaps she can direct you to someone nearby who can assist.
Here's her # 949-584-6696

I just called Robin and gave her Terry's phone number and so I think that's all we can do for now.

Robin was online when I posted Terry's number, but I appreciate you double checking, Charis.

I haven't heard from anyone about this bird. I'll be happy to try and help and will try to get in touch with the people in the morning. Though they don't usually take in non-protected species, I suspect that the Wetlands & Wildlife Care Center would be willing to take in the pigeon on a temporary basis especially if they know that I am willing to take over care of the bird. They are at 21900 Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach .. 714-374-5587. Tis a shame that connections weren't able to be made today as I was working in Garden Grove which is very close to Los Alamitos.
