Pigeon with special needs -- Rochester, NYI found a flightless pigeon on our lawn more than a week ago and put it in a cage with food and water. When I noticed it had trouble eating food -- it would miss what it aimed at frequently -- I read up on pigeon diseases and have come to believe she (I think it's a she) has PMV (Paramyxovirus). Once in captivity, she gets enough food in her and can fly. But, then she's out in the wild having trouble getting enough to eat, and I'll find her unable to fly again, on our lawn.
I wondered if anyone would adopt this pigeon? I'm sure she'd be happier with other birds. There must be some pigeon owners with PMV birds who might take her in. *crosses fingers* |

You might want to post this in "I found a pigeon forum", It will get quicker responses. Keep checking back, there are members all over the country.
And thank you for caring for this little pigeon.

Thank you, Msfreebird.
I just did as you suggested and hope someone can adopt her. |
