Problems liberating my doves, ”””help me!!

Hello, I am javier, I don't write in English, only what the translator makes for my. In Spanish I have not found who helps me.

I picked up some doves 4 months ago and that it is their age. I had already written asking about what I should make with them. Now I have another problem. I tried to liberate them in a place very near my house; there there is now a group of doves, the problem it is that when they were there, the other doves flew and one of them flew and the other dove collided with a car (fortunately she is not very bad, she will recover). But the other dove flew but not with the other ones but alone. I have been following it, but for three days that this it is alone flying for the roofs. I don't know what I should to do. do I owe to leave it alone?, should I capture her?, please help me. Thank you for their advice, they are very important for my.

Javier

Hi Javier,

Sounds like you are really doing your best looking out for these doves.

Are you feeding and watering this dove, or is it able to find food on its own.

Also, are there any predators in the area.?

If the bird is unable to intigrate into the flock and is a not able to find seed or water on its own I would catch it.

she has fed, I have seen it look for food. But she is always alone. it has been raining. Today I saw it being protected of the water, but she was very open, I believe that she was wet a little. I believe that her is looking for food, but rarely her this with the other doves. she is only four days ago out. should I expect more time?, will a problem that she has separated the other dove be? if it is necessary to catch it like I would owe to make it?

Thank you

there are not predators in the area, only some cats. I am not giving to her eaten. I sometimes place food in some areas where the doves usually feed. She is sometimes with other doves but then they leave and she is alone.

do I catch it? how?

Actually pigeons and /or doves can have a long life span, up to 21 years if they are well cared for, that is mostly domestic pigeons. Their lifespan depends on quality of life, their genetics.

I know wild pigeons have a harder time at living long lives, due to having to struggle for quality food and water, & lack of protection from predators, and weather conditions, and disease. In some areas life is easier for them, if food is plentiful and the climate is warm, other areas it is hard for a dove or pigeon to exist, with limited food supply and/or weather conditions and such.

If the bird is not safe, not eating, sick, vulnerable to the elements you should catch it.

Here is a thread with a simple trap

thank you for your answer. The dove feeds, she is protecting of the water. I have seen her be integrated to other doves to eat, but then they leave and the dove is alone.

I believe that I will try to catch it to her, and later, I could liberate her from my apartment. I live in a fifth floor. Also, the other dove, that is to say, the sister of the dove that is out, still continues with me. I would be interested to liberate them meetings.

what do you think? don't I owe it to catch? do I wait that she is integrated with the other ones?

Thank you, and forgive me because I don't know anything about doves, only what I have learned with them.

Javier

The dove Returned

The dove returned to my apartment. I think that I will liberate her from here together with the other dove.

Thank you for the update.

Does she look okay?

It will be better if they are released together, the more the better they will adapt.
