request advice for handling a pigeon egg

Hi,

A pigeon has laid an egg inside my bedroom, on top of a wooden cabinet.
I would have left it as is if it weren't inside my bedroom.
I thought a lot about it and concluded that it would be infeasible to let it incubate there for 18-19 days and then let the young ones grow for a few more weeks.

I want to cause minimal harm to both the pigeon and the egg.
It has just been 8-10 hrs since the egg was laid, and I havent let the pigeon incubate it yet(by not allowing it to return to my room) till I decide on a solution.

I would like to request someone to advise on the following options I am considering or suggest newer/better ones:

1. Get the mother/father/both pigeons in a cage, put the egg inside the cage, relocate the cage to a convenient location and provide food/water regularly till the egg hatches.

2. Relocate the egg carefully in the presence of the pigeons, so that they dont abandon it.

3. Relocate the egg to some other pigeon's nest already having eggs and hope for the other pigeons to incubate this egg considering their own.

Apologies for the long post...
Please help if you have had any such experiences.

Pigeons usually lay two eggs, the second coming about 2 days after the first. They don't typically incubate the first egg until the second is laid because they want them to hatch as closely together as possible. Otherwise, the first will get too big and then demand too much food causing the second to either be a runt or die.

They don't typically take it well if you move eggs from where they left it unless you move it just a little at a time so that they can get used to that. If you had a balcony and moved it out there, they wouldn't recognize that it's even theirs, for instance. It is pretty impractical for them to be living on the top of your cabinet so you can take this information and try to do the best you can.
