riverside,ca found pigeon help!

hi,I have been sheltering, what appears to be a "teenager" pigeon, since she looks fine, but cant fly. She's a sweetie pie, very brave & smart, but very scared of me.
I saved her from 2 cats, before they laid a paw on her,but I really, really could use some info on finding someone to care for her. There are 3 cats living on the patio with her,and the only thing I had to put her in,is not suitable.
Any other time,I'd try harder, but my mom just passed,so life is out of control here.I'd appreciate advice on what to do,or if the humane society is who I should call.I havent, because I'm scared they'd put her to sleep.
thanks in advance,bree

my condolences on the passing of your mom,i understand you do not wish to keep a new friend,,you are correct to house the bird more appropriatly/securely away from predators,,if you can bring him in keep him in a bathroom/garage or get a resonably large cage for security issues and offer bird food and water,,this is an excellent website that offers incredible help/hopefully they are close by for rescue,/you might-notify ta-whatley//,in the mean time you might just fall in love with the little guy,,they really are not hard to care for,,sincerely james waller

Hi Bree,

Please try calling my friend, Bart, in Norco and see if he can help you out with the bird. His # is 951-734-4944. If that doesn't work out, then I'll be happy to take over the care of this youngster, but I live in Lake Forest .. lots further away from you than Bart is. My # is 949-584-6696 if you need to call me.

I am very sorry for the loss of your mother.

Terry

Thank you all

you all are amazing, and thanks so much for all of your advice & condolences.I will call Bart today.Norco is very close to me.
I'll be honest,I am trying hard _not_ to fall in love with this sweetie.I lost my parakeet Dude in july, after almost 8 yrs of loving that special little guy.I'm just not ready or able to adobt a new baby.
Since I have been living with mom for over 4 yrs to take care of her,I dont even know where I'll be living.I'm very new to puters,so excuse any faux-pas and my late responce.
I'll keep everyone updated. Thanks again, bree
