Tar on pigeon feetI'm pretty sure it's tar. They tarred a road a block from me that's the only thing I can think of. I've noticed pigeon foot prints on the patio furniture and concrete the past couple days and now I caught him. He's eating,acting and droppings look fine.
Do I bathe the feet and feathers in Dawn or are there any other suggestions? Theres only a couple small spots on the feathers but it's mostly the feet.

Oh, boy... do you think it was hot tar? If that were the case, then the skin might slough off or the tissue beneath might be burned. Hopefully, that's not the case. Seems like I remember that mineral oil might do well to take tar off and then you can follow it with Dawn. Be careful.

Warm canola oil and lots of picking at it with your fingernails should do the trick .. manicure time for you tomorrow
 If the warm oil and picking gets it off, then a quick wash with a very diluted Dawn treatment should have it handled!Terry PS: Actually, I'd pick at it a little with my fingernails first .. I think a lot of it will come off with no problem.

Some progress, pij is going to have some soft feet. There was a chunk that fell off the bottom of the one foot today.
