A New Book I Found Called

Simply Sarah-CUCKOO FEATHERS

I was at the children's library today and picked up a new book called cuckoo feathers and it's about a pigeon they call coo. It's about these children who live in an apt building and a pigeon stops by on their ledge everyday to visit them heres a little bit of it out of the book

Coo, came a call from the window ledge, Peter turned around "That's our Pigeon! Said Sarah, pointing to the black pigeon with white on its tail. We call her Coo". They went over to the window with Riley. A second pigeon appeared, a brown one, "Then that must be Cuckoo" Peter said, and they laughed.

A part in the book read - I know at school when kids ask what kind of pet I have? I will tell them I have a pet pigeon yeah how many people have a pigeon for a pet.

The two pigeons end up nesting on these chidrens little balcony outside their window and lay two eggs, one of the eggs drops to the ground below killing the baby inside, and one of the little girl writes a poem for it. It's called
To A Pigeon-
I wish you'd lived to see your mother, And sit in the nest beside your brother. I would have given you a worm, And not let the sun burn. I would have fed you Cheerios, And watched you stand on your toes. If you weren't dead, You'd move your head, Oh, little pigeon, soft and gray, I wish you'd lived another day.

It's a cute book Simply Sarah-Cuckoo Feathers by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor Illustrated by Marcy Ramsey
