bad feeling


Hey every one havent been on the computer for awhile.Dont you just hate the feeling when something bad happens and you feel like its your fault?Well....the breeding was doing great i had a couple of racers and then i woke up to go let out some birds to fly and i checked the babies.I found 3 of them dead and it hurt so bad because i feel like its my fault they died!I try and forget about it but i cant some times i wonder why i raise pigeons=(i still have 6 babies(had 9 but 3 died) but im still so sad!I dont see why they died because they we so healthy just sitting their cherping away and then they next day they were dead*cries*

Hi Erik,

That is a shame that you lost 3 babies It's so hard to say for sure what happened. Please look on the bright side of things and you still have 6 babies left. Try to keep a close eye on them and their progress. Best wishes to you that these 6 remaining will grow up big and strong.

Erik,

Did you do preventative treatment before breeding your pigeons, did you vacinate your breeders, what did you do with your breeders before you started breeding????

The most common cause of early death in young pigeons is paratyphoid, there is treatment and there is vacinations that you can use before breeding season to prevent, if this is what caused your problem.

Have you located a local mentor to assist you with your pigeons yet???
