How sad

I can not believe people and the evil stuff they do to innocent animals. It's weird how they say that imported birds such as pigeons, etc are not protected because they are not from here. Who really is from here? I am a european american like a lot of people I know are, so that must mean I should not have any protection. We need to get all the laws changed for our feathered friends and animals (poison) should be outlawed all the way around it is evil.. Andi

I am going to email the city council (mayor) of that town... maybe everyone here should too!!

I can't believe the way these people think:

"The poisoning sends a message to the birds not to come here."

No, actually it sends those of us who are human, a message of how cruel and inhumane these people are. Those poor birds are dead and cannot speak or communicate anymore to their fellow flock members.

"It can be a horrific thing to witness a bird flopping around dying."

What about how horrific it is for those birds who suffer the pain and agony of poisoning... and for those of us who know better and can feel how much those birds are suffering at the hands of these cruel, and illeducated people?

Angry

Stinking thinking

The only message it send to a pigeon is there are new homes. When pigeons are taken out of an area. It becomes open space or Open House. So sad that people had to witness this. And even sad sadder it is an ok thing do. Poor birds.

Some people are just sick. They are the ones that should be poisoned. Not the birds.

Treesa, you called it just the way I feel. Well said. Something like this makes me sick. You can only hope there is a better tomorrow for pigeons but until people learn compassion there will always be things like this happening. I don't know how people like this sleep at night.

ok that was just pure wrong to kill pigeons cause they dont want them at the spot why not just put fake birds of pray up instead of slaughtering all them poor defenseless birds .

Atleast there is people in this world that actually cares about these wonderful feathered birds.

Consider the food chain

There is also a danger that the poison can spread to animals preying on the birds. Poison doesn't just go where you plan it to go.

I had a coworker who had years ago worked in pest control, which included poisoning birds. Boy was he filled with the propaganda. He was sure pigeons carried every vile disease known to man. I suggested to him that if that were true, we're doomed because there are pigeons everywhere here in downtown Seattle. Somehow common sense doesn't work on some people.
