Lookslike they may have to come up with another method of pigeon control. Hopefully a humane one. Brave hawk to have lunch in front of a crowd, I wonder if the falconer dude fed him before duty that day?

What strikes me about this is that people appeared horrified at the incident. They can't help but feel sorrow for the pigeon and this may be a good thing. You sure can't ignore something like this and maybe people will be more considerate of pigeons.

Emma - PiCASThis is pretty grim and I don't think anyone likes to see any creature being torn and eaten up whatever the food chain may dictate.
The article makes reference to Emma Haskell of PiCAS ( Pigeon Advisory Control Service). I have spoken and corresponded with Emma before. She is a very compassionate lady who works for a company that endorses only humane control of pigeons. They also only endorse one pest control company which uses non-lethal methods of control ( spikes I think re anti-perching). Emma is a great lady who has given me her mobile number should I ever find a pigeon in need of help ( more of a trapped type of scenario than find a sick one). But I find the PiCAS website very informative and pigeon friendly. Tania |
