While elsewhere pigeons find an unusual niches:

Hi John,

Regarding the first article: Mr Livingston seems to be a real pain!

2cnd: I also applaud Mr. Bell for having respect for nature, and allowing the baby to be raised in his window. The mom and dad certainly found a great nesting sight, quite perfect.

thanks for sharing.

Treesa, I would like to take the liberty to finish your first sentence.

"Mr Livingston seems to be a real pain"................in the a**.

John, is he up for reelection? I sure hope this radical is voted out. We have enough a**es here that I hope get voted out too.

Still, the article wasn't all bad and the 2nd one was great - just shows there are compassionate people left.

Thanks for the articles, John! That Livingston sounds like a REAL WINNER (said with heavy sarcasm!) Guess some people with only a few brain cells can get elected to public office.

Second article just goes to show, once again, how smart these birds are! Pigeon parents know a great piece of real estate when they find one!

Ggrrrr - I used to like Ken Livingstone - about 20 years ago. My dad is a bit of a real leftie and liked Ken and Ken used to run this council called the GLC ( Greater London Council) having cheap bus fares and standing up for people's rights - but he is too extreme now and I hate him now for declaring the war on pigeons - that really upset when he decided that the Trafalgar Square pigeons had to go. He like reptiles - I mean I don't mind reptiles but he prefers them - mind you he looks a bit reptilian as well.......

I loved the 2nd article - what a lovely man and so caring towards the pigeons - lovely, lovely.

I have nice story about pigeons - I'll be brief - Richmond station - billboard - pigeon nest on top. 2 squabs!! - Builders in station, putting up green sheeting across the roof as doing some work with the lights - I worry about the nest - no need to - they carefully put the green sheeting around the nest leaving space for mum and dad to get to the babies and work around them. 4 weeks later - babies are strutting up and down the billboard - workmen still there - now workmen gone - babies gone - nest still there!!

Tania xx
