Pavarotti farewell pictureDid anyone notice how the lead and final picture in one of MSNBC's slide show tributes featured a pigeon in flight
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20653677/ Very poetic. I thought it a fitting and lovely final image for a man whose voice was truly a gift from God.

The pigeon was actually there, wasn't it? I think that makes it even more beautiful and touching than if the image had been chosen beforehand for the photograph or released at the funeral.

Yes, that pigeon was there whether "planned" or not. That's why I thought the picture was so striking. It was as if a messenger from God had been sent to collect the prayers for Luciano and carry them skyward.

It was a nice slide presentation. I especially liked the one with the pigeon in flight. So proper it seems to me .

It's so sad that such a spectacular voice has been silenced. I do think the pigeon in the picture stole the show,although it probably is not appropriate to say so.
I love the comments others of you have made about the presence of the pigeon in the picture. A little feral pigeon taking prayers to the heavens...beautiful.
