Please call Caesars Palace in Vegas

Hi, All. A friend just forwarded this posting to me, originally posted on craigslist.

Here's the text of the post:

Cruel Bait & Switch

I was at Caesars Palace Wednesday observed an Ecolab employee laying down corn kernels along the taxi staging area and asked him what he was doing. He replied that he was feeding the pigeons, luring as many in as possible to feed and get accustomed to eating there. He said they will then switch from feed to poison to kill the birds. I find this to be a totally unecesarry and cruel solution to their pigeon problem. He claims Caesars doesn't want the pigeons roosting in the eaves of the building. There are other ways to keep the birds out. They will have to repeat this cruel method as soon as other pigeons return again later. If you care, please call Caesars and voice your protest.

Location: Caesars Palace

Caesar's is owned by Harrah's Entertainment, and these are the numbers I found. I'm not sure where to direct your comments, but it should be pretty easy to figure out.

Harrah's Corporate Office
One Harrah's Court
Las Vegas, NV 89119
(702) 407-6000

Caesars Palace
3570 Las Vegas Boulevard
Las Vegas, NV 89109
(866) 227-5938

I will be there later on today, and I was planning on eating dinner there. Because of this, I will be spending my money elsewhere. I will look around to see if I can find the company on property.

Ecolab has a few phone numbers listed in the phone book:

(702)227-3852
(702)871-0456
(702)617-3399

Thank you everyone for your help.

Isn't it illegal to lay out poison in an area that is accessed by the public? That sort of thing isn't legal over here. What if someone's child or pet picks up the bait? You could probably notify the police of this, I doubt this is legal.

Wow...

Thanks Nicole for alerting us to this.

I will make a few calls too...

Personally, I would love to see 'Caesers' cater to Pigeons, and to People who like PIgeons...have all sorts of nice things for the Birds, cool Fountains, nice Lawns of Clover and 'Baby's Breath', and dappled places for forraging and bathing...pleasant Nesting places, and, they could offer great deals for Resort Holidays to Pigeon People, hold Pigeon related Conferences and Conventions, and really get into a cool Pigeon theme.

The Ancient Romans liked Pigeons, and old Julius "C" himself would think well of the idea I am sure.

Would work out pretty well I think.

Oh well, if only I was a major Stock-Holder...I could bring it up at the next Share-Holder's meeting..!

...sigh...
