Press Release

With the issuance of this press release, I think Mr. Felder can forget about any future political aspirations. (At least I can hope for that.)

The first thing I noticed when I clicked on the report was the line of 'fancy' pigeons pictured at the top.
This issue is focused on the 'ferals', is it not?
I would like to have seen some 'ferals' represented among an entire cast of fancy pigeons. JMO

Cindy,
You're right. I didn't notice that. I'm going to point that out. Thanks for that observation.

George,
It's superb. There are a lot of very intelligent people working on this and it does give one reason for hope. We can't underestimate politicians though so who knows what is going to happen?

GEORGE
Say what you must George, but the bottom line is there's a vast difference between racing, show & 'feral' pigeons. This particular issue is about the 'feral' pigeon, not the racing or show pigeons.

It just would have been nice to have seen a couple 'ordinary' pigeons being represented, that's all.

I agree, a feral pigeon or two need to be shown for the obvious reason *, AND they need to be seen in the same light, and deserving of the same respect our domestics (should) receive. Leaving them out, just continues to give them the distinction of them being "flying rats", and/or third class (bird) citizens.

Everyone make sure to sign the petition! There is only 60 people signed up so far, we need a LOT more!
Maybe a moderator should forward the link to EVERY SINGLE MEMBER here, past AND present!

I just did the Petition...

The 'Pigeon People' Header...I wrote to the web master and to Lori, mentioning they should put a few 'feral' or Rock Dove icons up there ( too ) ...!

Anyone click on 'Images' at the right side of the below-the-header area?

Shows little 'Daisy' the PPMV ( it seemed? ) Youngster 'Daisy' who has a Thread here on PT...'enid'...

Anyway...

Wow...heck of an article...glad they have so together and articulate a position to rebuke the pending statute's promoter...

I have a suggestion; I had to LOOK for the link to the petition on that page. It's in a dark grey link on a light grey background on the left side of the title. Not exactly obvious! Maybe they need to better promote the info that there even is a link to a petition? Like making the link red or something? Just a thought.

Yup...it is a little obscure alright...

You can write to the Web Master or others on the mid center links and mention this to them...they write me back and are nice people, and they welcome feedback about the site.

Agreed .. but let's wish them well on their mission tomorrow. I'm not sure if many of you realize just how difficult this is to go up against a City or a City Councilperson .. it's rough and tough .. and often doesn't matter whether you and your supporters are right or not .. it's all about the politics ..

I fought the Duck Wars here in my city a decade ago .. very tiny stuff compared to what our New York friends are up against .. I won .. but I lived in what was then a city of only about 60,000 people .. I can't even imagine what it will be like for them to go up against the City Council of New York City .. such a huge, huge place ..

I am sending them every positive and powerful thing that I can.

Terry

I wish I could go to their rally today. Only with them in spirit, though.
I did sign the petition and sent a letter in respose to a news story...much as out of town opinions matter, which may not be much, it's too much of an outrage to me to keep quiet.
