Proposed Swan Cull

http://www.eveningnews24.co.uk/conte...A43%3A04%3A797

The swans in the photo are the ones that Joan feeds at the same time as she feeds the feral white pigeons. Apart from anything else if they were allowed to cull swans then pigeons would not stand a chance.

The river has a constant flow of boats during the summer, they would do far more damage to "wildlife" (presumably swans don't qualify as wildlife in this strange, cruel, warped society that we live in.

Happy New Year Cynthia!

What a disgraceful way to start Seems to me that "the powers that be" will not be happy until every single species of wildlife has been erased from the face of this earth. No wonder our planet is in so much danger. Don't these people realise that the decline in our wildlife is doing our planet more harm than good.

Michelle.

I'm so sorry to hear about this proposal.

The fact that they even ask you to write in "do you think swans should be culled?"...says it all.

It should be obvious and unanimous that swans SHOULD NOT be culled.

Why not let the tourists pick up the tab for the the fish and wildlife that the swans are blamed on harming?

Unfotunately, I don't think they will realize what they are doing to our planet and wildlife, until it is way to late.

This is unbelievable! What is wrong with some people. Oh well people kill people if they want to occupy an already taken space. Why on earth would I find this so hard to believe?

Instead of calling it a "cull" they should call it "Jenaside" cause it's the same thing.
I find people are always trying to find ways to kill the innocent. Sick people.

Cynthia,

I have only just read this and I like many others are sickened by this.

As the paper states they are protected by a Royal Charter in that they technically belong to the Queen so hopefully this will not be as clear cut as they would like - but then saying that the deer in Richmond Park ( which is a Royal park) are culled biannually to keep the numbers at a "reasonable" level.

Unfortunately I rule with my heart on so many things and not my head and I, like Michelle, can only wonder why the human race is hell bent on destroying everything that is possibly "geeting in our way" - Ggrrrr

Without sounding like the voice of doom - We, human beings, will pay one day - and the global warming that is happening now is the begining I think to the end......unfortuantely we will probably take most of the animals species with us.

( Sorry getting my philosophical head on here) but it makes me mad.....

Lets hope this proposal gets quashed before it can even get started.

Tania xx
