Hi - and welcome to Pigeon Talk! Thank you so much for taking this little one in Good sign that s/he know how to drink already. And the grain bread was an excellent emergancy food for now.

For tonight - look through this thread - http://www.pigeons.biz/forums/f20/fo...eeds-8755.html

Keep the little one warm and secure/safe feeling with water available. In the morning try to get some small seed (canary or parakeet mixes are good for such a youngun as you have.

I'm also going to ask the moderators to move your thread to the "I found a pigeon - now what" forum. You may want to browse through the threads there for information as well. http://www.pigeons.biz/forums/f20/ There are about five "sticky's" there I'm sure will be useful for you.

There are two things the more experienced folk here will ask about so I figured I'd go ahead & ask What do his/her poops look like? And can you post a few pictures of him/her? The pictures will help determine his/her age better and general overall health. The description of the poops will help determine overall health too.

Thanks again for taking this one in -- I'm not surprised at all that s/he's taken a liking to you already - piji's seem to know who will love them

well, his poops seem to be normal-ish,they're a little bit wet around the edges with some white and yellow mixed in......i dont think that he's eaten anything though, and im scared to hurt him when i force feed him, cause he really doesnt like that, although he jumps onto me....he keeps drinking alot of water...is that good?

as for pictures,i dont have a camera...and im gonna try and get some food for him off a friend or something,i just lost my job not too long ago,so moneys not readily there.

I'm pretty sure he's a male, cause he's puffing out his chest when i look at him!

i noticed him pecking at the floor of his box,but not at the food....what should i do if he doesnt want eat?

pecking at the floor is a good sign - he may already know how to eat seed. For the moment hydration and warmth is the most important. The canary/parakeet seed shouldn't be too expensive - check into it tomorrow. I hear you about the $$ being tight though.

I've sent a PM to someone much more knowledgable who will be able to give you better advice. I'll also ask around - see who might be near you. I know we have a few Candian members but I also know Canada is pretty darn big

Hang in - sounds like you're doing great so far.

Thank you for rescuing the little pigeon. Sounds like he is hungry.
Dez gave you great advice already. The little seeds would do for now if he is able to eat them and you can supplement with defrosted peas and corn. You can pop them one by one in his mouth.
The poops might be a little yellowish and watery because he is starving. If he is drinking he should be able to start eating on his own very soon.

Please let us know how he is doing.

Reti

Try holding your fingers like a v around the baby beak. He will start opening up for food. Then pop the seeds in.
