Flying on the window?

Hi i am very interested in knowing why one of our (im flying_pidgy's sister) pigeons keep flying to the window its actually pretty funny because out of no where he just fkys and like kind of rests on our big backyard window, he never gets hurt, and he looks so cute flying against the window, i wanted to know if anyone knows why he does that?

Hi Pidgers' 2006~

Pigeons and birds are prone to fly into windows, and unfortuately, some get hurt, and the smaller ones, can get killed doing this.

Often, a bird will see a window as an opening to another area or will see their reflection and go after "the bird" coming at them which is their reflection.

When mine freefly inside, they are used to windows and stay clear of them I have window decals on mine, or close the curtains and they learned to stay clear from trying to go through them.

Has the bird ever been inside before? If it has perhaps it wants to rejoin you. I have several birds that I rehabbed that will try to get in, if they ever got out of their supervised aviary. They will walk right in the sliding door, if it is open when they are inside the porch.

I have had my pigeons fly into the storm door window, the entrance to their coop. This happens after I wash it, they think it is a passage way, so now I have decals on it as well as the powder from their feathers. That is the BEST excuse NOT to have to wash it. Just make sure to keep stickers or decals on any windows they fly into.

Well hes never been inside before but its not like he sees an opening because when he flys hes very...i dont know alert type and knows whats hes doing i thinkhe likes to be someplace high because he aalways goes on the top part, and he doesn't fly like straight at the window he goes kinda impulsivly but in a calm way and then he just opens his wings and stays on the window, its really weird but its kinda fun to watch him because after he opens his wings on the window then he closes them and kinda sicks to the window. Its really harmless because he doesnt go directly to it or anything and he goes up slowly. I was just wondering why but maybe like u guys said maybe he just likes the reflection.
