just a couple of questions

i was wondering, what are some good treats to give to pigeons?
alsomy pigeon itches alot, but i know she dosn't have mites, because when she was little we had her treated for mites just in case. also i heard in a different thread that some one trained their pigeon to poop in 1 specific spot, i was wondering how would you do that?

Hello and Welcome to Pigeons.com

If you do a search and type in "treats" you will come up with numerous threads on the subject, as it has been covered alot. My pigeons will do anything for peanuts.

You should check the bird for internal parasites as well as external. Make sure to dust and spray the bird again, for mites, lice and pigeon flies. They will get them back, and mites are hard to spot. Also use a product like Scatt, to kill the blood sucking mites. You should also treat for worms with one of many wormers from the pigeon supply houses, at least annually. What are you feeding the bird, also?

Once you find a snack, she just loves, you can use re-inforcement training. You can try this, not all pigeons will respond, but you have to this consistently, and whenever the bird poops, until she poops where you want her to poop.

When the bird poops in the appropriate place you need to praise her, speak very lovingly and reward her with her favorite treat. When she poops in an inappropriate place, say that is not good, in a stern, but not mean voice. You have to do this each and every time the bird poops, and you will see results if she is interested enough, and if your training is consistent. Some birds will respond, others won't, it doesn't make them bad, have patience and have fun.

Here are links to several pigeon supply houses:
