OMG I just fed something the size of a wad of gumIt was my first time, but I just gave a tiny baby dove a supplemental feeding.
Thank you Youtube, pigeon talk, and "cage world" (terrible name for a bird store). I had my little girl hold it since she has small hands, and the rest was...lets face it, scary and weird and exciting.

LOL...That's what it was like to feed the mice only I didn't have any little hands to hold them.

Oh those tiny hands really help. Better than letting it roll around on the towel. It was barely gaping/thrusting. So tired out from hatching in this terrible heat. The mom just didn't want to feed it if it wasn't going to fight for dinner like big brother. Well I think that dove will be fighting a lot more tomorrow now that it had a good meal. We'll see if I have to do that again.
