pigeon story the picture of the bird is posted below) As you all know my pigeon Kzoo and his family died my granny knows how much i love my pigeons so she gave me a pair or pigeons. I put them in kzoo's loft after i cleaned the blood of the walls and picked up the dead pigeons. Yesterday my mom asked me "Noah, do you want to go to the shelter and see what pigeons they have, you have that other loft you justed for Kzoo before you got flora"(kzoo and flora are a pair). I answer "Well can we just go and see what they have i dont know if i wont another pigeon at this time". "Yeah we can go and just look" she said. we was on are way and i thought to myself if i get another pigeon it might make losing kzoo easier we got to the shelter and they had Dory(the pigeon i got)and a black homing pigeon that was really mean. i chose dory. at 14 years old it was hard to hear dorys story she was just for dog training but was a pigeon bought from one of my dads friends brothers friend he told me that they told him that they wanted them for pets. any way back to dory she has wounds from where she was shot and seams to have siezures the man said that she was in a box in front of the shelter so he took her in the wounds have feathers over the places but you can feel them. I think that she was shot during a training and flew to some ones house and they brought her to the shelter. i am not for sure but if a pigeon is hot and killed during dog training he dog gets to eat it for an award. she does not like humans to much but she will came around it makes me feel good to know that i gave atleast one pigeon a good life

Poor little Dory. I'm so glad you rescued her because she has had an awful life. I can't even begin to imagine the terror she has endured.
This is a very good and kind thing you have done, bringing Dory home. Keep her in and keep her safe. Pigeons don't need to fly to be content. As long as she has plenty of room, fresh food and water and a clean coop she will be content. I don't know what kind of a pigeon she is but other members will. She is very beautiful.

How neat!! I've got a bird named Dory too! Your Dory looks very pretty. Can't tell what type of pigeon she is, but I would assume that she's a homer if she was used in dog training. The ones that don't get maimed or killed by the dog
 are expected to go back home so they can do it again. Anyway........thankfully, that part of her life is over. Post more pictures of her when you can. She's a lucky little bird..........now at least.
