It feels so good to be done, but I'm not really done. I'll be combining all this into one or two books on aviculture and getting rid of some of the duplicate info across all three books, while keeping the best of the in-depth articles and adding a training /taming section on potty training and diaper training house pigeons when/if I can find the articles. I wanted to add a simple free aviary plan too, but the pictures were too big and made the book file quite large. It's a pretty cool section of information on loft building but I left it out.
That should take me a month or two to figure out. In the meantime, I just sent out new copies to all my e-book fans by request only (no spam from me, guys). And don't get mad at me for quoting aka ripping off information. If I offended anyone by quoting posts and saving them for my own personal use I am sorry. That is all these books are...for education of myself. I just wanted to share them because man, they took work to put together and I would like to 'ease the suffering' of my fellow bird fancier so they don't have to do it themselves.

I found an offensive phrase
in the rehab section of the ebook I put together, so I Deleted it. Now I am combing through the material looking for phrases about culling, euthanasia, etc. and removing them. I apologize if anybody has read, and was offended by, these phrases, and I can send out the edited version of the e-book later this week once I'm sure it is done. As a reminder, pigeon talk does not support or condone lethal practices. For this reason, I have created the Pigeon and Dove care e-book social group on this forum. So if you would like a copy, have read, are reading, have found errors, have something to add, would like to discuss content, or would like me to remove incorrect or offensive sections, join that group please. This should be a community effort. It isn't just my e-book, it is your ebook. And now I can keep track of who wants /has a copy by the members of the social group. Could be a neat feature.

There are some things I left out of the book because there wasn't enough clear direction to make a good article out of. I don't want to put incomplete directions, and I feel bad about some chapters because they may tempt a person to try it themselves instead of use a vet.
I'm contemplating a chapter on cleaning deep wounds and infected wounds, since it has become such a topic recently. Should I research this, or just leave this one to the actual doctors? I've seen it done a few times but all I ever did was hold the patient. One was a 5 year old girl who ran through her entire vocabulary (which was larger than even the mommy knew) begging the doctor to stop. Oh lord was I crying. Then he told Mommy to come out from behind the curtain and 'rescue' the girl so everything was all right. Pigeons go through the exact same experience when this happens, you know. So, contemplating a chapter on ointments, diluted peroxide, Manuka Honey, stevia, and a strong stomach. Suggestions?

It's official, I've sent out over 20 of the e-books. Yay! And yet, not much feedback so far. Is it taking that long to read it? lol

I would love to have a copy of your book although "my" only pigeons are those who care to roost on my balcony. I lost a young pigeon recently in an unexpected mysterious way. I had suspected a problem for sometime but I couldn't find a single vet in this region who would care to examine a feral pigeon. I told all about it in my thread "Joy and Sorrow" under Wild feral pigeons. My email address is gladyschardon@yahoo. fr and/or gladys.chardon@gmail.com.
Many thanks, Gladys |

The pigeon and dove care e-book in microsoft word .doc format is complete.
I may be putting it into a website someday, but that would be difficult. I did not complete an article on deep wound care, just some tips. I removed some sections I found that the advice I copied and popped in there just wasn't that good, expanded on the disease and homeopathic section, added a great section on poisoning and recovery. Added honey, stevia, probiotics, and gunpowder articles. Rescue case studies. Behavioral science articles on doves so that you can get to know the standard of behaviour for these beautiful creatures. An article on the summary of Avian Anatomy. My goal with this book is completed. Mine was not a book to spend hours of your time telling you what a pigeon is, and what colors they come in. This book attempts to answer the question, "How do I save my pigeon's life? How do I make my birds stronger, healthier, faster than other birds?" And I believe I have succeeded. Using the research and articles I've gathered over the last ten months, I have been able to breed, care for, raise, and treat a family of eight lovely doves. I have had no chicks die that hatched in the last seven months, and every egg that incubated to term hatched. There are, of course, secrets and tips enough out there to fill hundreds of books. I will be hunting down as many as I can, and I hope to be able to produce another book as soon as I have enough things to put into it. Ask for your copy today. Free and worth every bit of sweat I put into it. "Aviculture 2nd Ed"
