Darn, I don't remember except the dosage was over a period of a few days. I will check with Dr. Burke tomorrow (Thursday) and let you know. At that time, he was also still quite young - not yet 6 mo. old.

Got It!Well, funny how things come back to mind once you find out what the original answer is!
The dosage for the Panacur was 0.05 cc by mouth daily for 3 days. Wait 3 weeks and repeat. At the time, he was about 4-5 months old. I am VERY happy to say that Squeakers passed his check-up with FLYING colors. No parisites/worms or other nasties! He weighs 1.03 lbs. and Dr. Burke says he looks GREAT! Mr. Squeaks already KNEW that and wondered why I submitted him to such a long ride that he got car sick and threw up! He is now home and back to his usual feisty self! ![]() |

Glad to hear Mr. Squeaks passed his check-up with flying colors. sorry to hear about his motion sickness, I've heard of other pigeons having that.
..and thank you for finding the dosage used on the Panacur. Treesa

I'm glad your Mr. Squeaks is doing well. Some pigeons do get motion-sickness. Many of mine travel just fine in the car, but a few get seriously car-sick. Jasmine throws up almost as soon as I put her in the carrier and continues to vomit the entire time she's in the car. Fortunately the vet is only 15 minutes away.

Thanks...for all the kind remarks. Squeaks was never car sick throughout the time I had to run him back and forth when we were dealing with getting his wing to heal. That's why I was so surprised he became car sick this time. Can't say that I blame him, poor guy...I tend to get car sick sometimes if I'm not driving! Unfortunately, his Vet is not that close. Unless there is a problem, I had only planned to take him in maybe once a year for a checkup. I did find out he is eating large seeds which I thought he was always throwing out of his dish!
Next on the agenda - a Flight Suit. I already have one and will try it on him in the next day or so. Hopefully, the wide + (he weighs 1.03 lbs) I bought will fit and he will accept wearing it! Sure will save picking up poops! ![]() |

I hate them flight suits, yeah they do help YOU out alot, but can you imagine wearing one, and sitting in your own crap for a while?

I think the flightsuits hang very loose around the vent area, so they don't actually touch the skin.

Hi Dan,
This is a post from an older thread...The person who posted has used flight suits and this is what she had to say: __________________________________________________ __________ 8th March 2003, 05:17 PM hilary Senior Bird Join Date: Jun 2002 Location: israel Posts: 357 Fred The flight suit keeps the poop away from the bird's vent. It does not fit snug in the vent area - it has like a little pocket where the poop falls down into and the bird's vent is kept spotless. I suppose if someone left it on the bird for a day or more then there would be a problem. Hilary __________________________________________________ ___________ Hope this is helpful. Linda |
